Small organic companies are tasty snacks for industry giants

Cargill and Dean Foods are fueling dramatic growth in organics, partly through the purchase of small, established ventures. Often, the large companies will hide the fact that they own the small farms, not showing on the package that Cascadian Farm is owned by General Mills, for example, or Bear Naked granola is part of Kellogg.
