Buyers' demand for Islamic bonds drives yields to 4-year lows

Light issuance of Islamic debt and deceleration in the global economy are driving U.S. dollar-denominated sukuk to its lowest average yields since November 2005, according to the HSBC/NASDAQ Dubai US Dollar Sukuk Index. This week, the average yield declined 25 basis points to 5.22%. For the year, the yield has fallen 204 basis points.
