Conference aims to make women better money managers

Attendees of the "Smart Women, Smart Money" conference in Salt Lake City learned strategies for establishing financial security, including lessons on budgeting, starting a small business and planning for retirement. "I want to have the knowledge and the resources to take care of myself and my loved ones, if need be, and to be able to retire in the future," said student Jennifer Southerland, who says she works two jobs after seeing her parents struggle because they didn't have a financial plan.
