DuPont sets up joint venture to produce pre-compounds in China

U.S.-based DuPont and China-based firm Chenguang Chemical Research Institute are entering a 50/50 joint venture to produce and sell fluoroelastomer gums and pre-compounds in China. The two companies will build a pre-compounding facility in Shanghai, which will open during the second half of next year. The partnership is expected to help DuPont boost its presence in China's high-growth fluoroelastomer sector, said Diane Gulyas, president of DuPont Performance Polymers.
