Girl Scout troop enables girls with disabilities to be themselves

Girl Scout Troop 200 in Naperville, Ill., was formed in 2008 and is the only troop in the state specifically for girls who have disabilities. Members of the troop meet twice each month for field trips and other activities designed to help them meet the requirements to earn Girl Scout patches. "It's a great time for them to bond with each other and talk and be themselves, and that's a big part of this troop," said a woman who helped start the troop.
