Facebook tests sponsored search ads

Facebook is quietly testing a sponsored-search offering that places stand-alone ad units above users' search results. Ads from social-gaming companies including Disney Interactive Media Group, Zynga, Kixeye and King.com have all been spotted atop search results, which could become some of Facebook's most coveted real estate. "Brands would love to leverage that search space on Facebook," says Jordan Bitterman of Digitas.
