Ala. district launches workforce-readiness initiative

Students in Mobile County Public Schools in Alabama can earn career-readiness certificates in a range of fields, such as aviation, nursing and welding. Larry Mouton, head of the school system's career and technical education program, said the certificate program would help ensure students graduate with workforce skills. "Industry is starting to look at a common product," he said, adding: "They're not necessarily as focused on the skills they know they can teach as they are on workforce readiness."
