A biosensor cradle designed to take advantage of the processing power and camera of an iPhone could be used to detect toxins, viruses and other undesirable elements in our environment, according to this article. Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign say the device could be used for field testing in remote areas or by consumers with allergies to certain foodstuffs.
