Canadian company acquires Cold Stone Creamery parent

The Ontario-based Serruya family, which own brands including Yogen Früz, has acquired Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Kahala Corp, which owns more than a dozen quickservice brands including Cold Stone Creamery. Kahala's other brands include Blimpie and Great Steak and Potato Company, but Cold Stone is likely the best known because it shares space with 259 Tim Hortons shops in Canada and the US.
