China plans liberalisation of deposit interest rates

Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, says the central bank is ready to fully liberalise the financial system, including lifting restrictions on interest rates for bank deposits. Zhou says reform is underway and that he is optimistic it will be achieved.
