EBay's S. Korean arm books strong m-commerce growth

EBay Korea-owned online retailer Gmarket launched its first mobile application in 2009 and has seen 30% annual growth in the years since. Today, mobile commerce makes up 9% of Gmarket's total sales, and the company says mobile's share is likely to continue growing as South Korea's shoppers flock to features including the Virtual Store project that lets smartphone users scan QR code-embedded ads to make a purchase.
