Education Dept. addresses bullying of students with disabilities

The U.S. Department of Education in a letter released Tuesday reminded schools of their obligation to intervene in the bullying of students with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The letter advised school districts to update their policies to ensure an immediate response to bullying and emphasized that schools could not use bullying as a reason to move students to a more restrictive environment.
