Experts call for limited use of broad-spectrum antibiotics

Professional and public-health organizations, including the AAP, have joined the CDC in a campaign urging health care providers to limit the number of broad-spectrum antibiotics they prescribe. A recent study found widespread overuse and misprescribing of broad-spectrum antibiotics as well as prescribing of antibiotics for conditions the drugs cannot treat.
