This year's P. Kemp Fain Jr. Award will go to Elissa Buie, a founder of the Financial Planning Association. The award from FPA recognizes an individual for contributions to the financial planning profession in the areas of service to society, academia, government and professional activities and for demonstrating FPA's core values of competence, integrity, relationships and stewardship. Buie is a professor at Golden Gate University and is chairwoman of the Foundation for Financial Planning. FPA will present the award to Buie at its national conference in October.
