FTC inclined to wait on do-not-track mandate

The Federal Trade Commission is indicating no urgency in calling for mandatory measures that would allow consumers to opt out of online tracking. However, Chairwoman Edith Ramirez said the agency is carefully weighing privacy considerations associated with new technologies such as Google Glass. Separately, ad-serving company TruEffect has ceased to honor consumer do-not-track requests, citing competitiveness reasons.
