Consumers would be more likely to make an online purchase that came with free next-day delivery, and most don't care about same-day delivery options, according to a new survey from Booz & Company. Fast turnaround can be a costly proposition for pure-play online retailers as they look to expand same- and next-day delivery to smaller markets. Meanwhile, the trend could prove to be a plus for brick-and-mortar retailers whose stores can double as distribution centers.
