Siemens wins order to supply 116 turbines to Wash. wind project

Portland General Electric has chosen Siemens Energy to furnish 116 turbines to the 267-megawatt Tucannon River wind project in Columbia County, Wash. The turbines are due for installation starting next year, with completion expected in 2015. Siemens will manufacture the nacelles and hubs at its Hutchinson, Kan., factory, while the blades will be made at the firm's Fort Madison, Iowa, facility.
