Study links obesity surgery to colorectal cancer risk

Researchers who looked at data on more than 77,000 patients who were obese found that those who had been treated with bariatric surgery faced a significantly greater risk of colorectal cancer. The link was seen with the three types of bariatric procedures and increased over time, researchers reported in the Annals of Surgery.
