Survey: Teens, adults divvy up dominance of social media

Overall use of social media has risen to 72% among adults and 81% of teens, according to this Pew Research Center NextAdvisor infographic. Teens dominate adults on Facebook, 94% to 67%, and lead Twitter, 26% to 18%. When it comes to the newer social formats, however, adults rule, pinning on Pinterest at a 15% to 1% ratio, and even lead Instagram and Tumblr. Social media usage peaks in the 18-to-29 year old bracket (89%) and declines as people get older.
