TSMC tops Intel in Q3's "final market value"

Using a metric known as "final market value," IC Insights estimates that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing passed Intel in this quarter to emerge as the biggest semiconductor supplier in the world. The metric is calculated by multiplying the foundry's sales figures by 2.22 times, producing the estimated value paid by end customers for chips made in TSMC's wafer fabrication facilities.
