Data link development to shrinking coastal wetlands, forests

According to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, development is responsible for 40% of the decline in coastal wetlands and 8% of coastal forest loss across the U.S. Reforestation efforts have shown some promise, limiting the net loss of forests to 16,483 square miles during the 15-year period surveyed.
