Materials list for 3D printers is expanding

Jesse Darley, director of mechanical engineering for Design Concepts, lists his favorite new materials in a rapidly growing field that 3D printers can use. Topping the list is sintered powdered metal, which Darley particularly prefers for carbon fiber lay-ups. But carbon fiber itself can also be used in some printers, as well as plastics with embedded carbon nanotubes and graphene.
