Record number of students take ACT, but success rates remain stagnant

A record 1.84 million 2014 high-school graduates took the ACT college readiness test, but only 39% met three or more benchmarks in English, math, reading and science. That number is unchanged from last year, with Latinos and African-Americans continuing to score lower on average than their white and Asian-American counterparts.
