Petition to ease Mich. laws on stem cell research nears ballot

A campaign seeking to lift Michigan's restrictions on embryonic stem cell research is likely to be included on the ballot after supporters gathered almost 500,000 valid voter signatures, officials said Tuesday. The Board of State Canvassers is expected to meet today to decide whether to put the issue before voters on Nov. 4.
