Former Burundi rebels lured back into battle in DRC

Ethnic militias in the Democratic Republic of Congo are capitalizing on the failure of Burundi to effectively integrate former rebel soldiers as part of a recent peace deal that ended years of conflict. Hundreds of former rebels have been lured into traveling illegally across the border into Congo by the promise of payment in diamonds and gold, according to Burundian military and United Nations officials.
