HTC hires Deutsch for reported $50M media blitz

Smartphone maker HTC has handed its branding and marketing account to Los Angeles' Deutsch, a move designed to move the behind-the-scenes phone maker into the limelight. HTC, which makes the Google-branded G1 smartphone and collaborated on the Windows-based Touch Diamond2, has only spent about $2 million on U.S. media in the past two years, according to this article. Now, it plans to spend around $50 million in Q4 alone on a campaign to boost its brand, sources have said.
