Most U.S. hospitals to have smoke-free campus by year-end

Survey responses from more than 1,900 U.S. hospitals showed most will have smoke-free campuses by the end of the year. Researchers from the Joint Commission's Health Services Research Department found about 45% had smoke-free campus policies in February 2008, 39% did not have any designated smoking areas and 15% were moving toward a smoke-free policy.
