Parents of boy with autism get partial payment for private school

North Carolina has decided Orange County schools should pay $2,957 to the parents of a child with autism for private preschool tuition. Owen McWhirter's parents put the 4-year-old in private school after disagreeing with school's individualized education program for him. They later sought tuition reimbursement. The parents had requested nearly $23,000.
