Experts urge pre-pregnancy counseling for women with diabetes

Data on more than 100 women with diabetes found that those who were on fertility treatment did not fare better in folic acid use and glycemic control compared with those who had spontaneous pregnancies. The findings in Diabetes Care underscore the importance of more intensive counseling to improve overall periconception care in patients who aim to conceive, experts said.
