Fed loans during financial crisis reached $1.2 trillion

Large U.S. banks including Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Bank of America were major recipients of loans from the Federal Reserve during the financial crisis, according to data Bloomberg News obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. Foreign banks also received funds from the Fed, which lent as much as $1.2 trillion total.
