Postmenopausal women who diet face loss of bone mass

A small study in the journal Obesity found that postmenopausal women who lost weight also lost bone mass and did not recover the bone mass when they regained the pounds. Researchers said women may have been able to prevent or reduce bone loss if they had done exercise to increase bone density, but also suggested that low bone mass may be linked to yo-yo dieting cycles.
