Report: Luxury hotel rates in Caribbean rise 17%

Luxury hotels in the Caribbean saw average rates increase 17% compared with rates in 2010, according to a new report from Smith Travel Research. Jan Freitag, senior vice president of global development for hotel research firm STR, also noted that the Caribbean is the only region in the world that this year is experiencing increased luxury hotel rates compared with pre-recession rates.
