BCBS program to cover childhood obesity treatment

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation launched a three-year pilot program with area employers to pay for physician and dietitian services to treat overweight children ages 3 to 18. BCBS's Dawnavan Davis said families who otherwise could not afford the out-of-pocket expenses for childhood obesity treatments would benefit from the program.
