City council may ban drones in Kansas community

Lawrence, Kan., may become the latest city to ban the use of drones, as fears about their potential abuses heat up. A civil rights group, Kansans for Responsible Drone Use, is pushing the city council to consider the law, something that cities ranging from Charlottesville, Va., to Iowa City, Iowa, have passed. "I can understand people's concerns of drones hovering over their homes and monitoring their private lives," said Jeremy Farmer, Lawrence city commissioner.
