Digital word-of-mouth drives department store shoppers

Department stores around the world need to stay ahead of digital changes as well as consumer trends to stay relevant to today's shoppers, executives said at a retail conference in Turkey earlier this year. "The speed of change relies on the speed of the Internet. We have to keep up with that pace. Customers are in charge of us now," said Karstadt CEO Andrew Jennings.
