European shares lost ground Wednesday as investors continued to expect the worst from the U.S. Federal Reserve before the release of the minutes of its latest policy meeting. The Stoxx Europe 600 ended the day down 0.54% at 300.61. But U.S. investors registered a mixed reaction when the minutes finally surfaced, gleaning no clear indication of when tapering would commence. The S&P 500 lost 0.58% to 1,642.80.
