New insulin pen allows finer-scale adjustments

Novo Nordisk received federal approval for its NovoPen Echo insulin pen, which enables half-unit dosing. The smaller doses allow for more precise adjustments, particularly helpful for treating children with diabetes. The device, the first of its kind in the U.S., also features a memory function that keeps track of dose and time frame between shots.
