An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council is being requested by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal following artillery and alleged chemical attacks. The death toll is unverified, though Syrian opposition forces claim it exceeds 1,300. Envoys from U.K., France and Turkey are asking Syria to allow the UN chemical-weapons team to investigate the incident.
