Appeals court rebuffs Aereo's bid to become cable company

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York declined to hear arguments by Aereo, which is seeking to resume operations as a cable company after a Supreme Court decision in June effectively shut down its Internet streaming of local television broadcasts. The startup will now need to make its case before a federal district judge if it wants to pursue that legal strategy, the appeals court said Thursday. Aereo declined to comment.
