HP reverses 3 years of declining sales with Q3 revenue bump

A double-digit increase in PC sales gave Hewlett-Packard the edge to post a 1.3% boost in revenue in its fiscal third quarter, ending an 11-quarter run of gradually declining sales. The 12% increase in PC revenue was a payoff of HP's increased investments in next-generation laptop computers, but had little overall impact on the company's bottom line, with earnings falling 29% over the period.
