Alaska Airlines ready for transition to all-737 fleet

Alaska Airlines will bid farewell next week to its last MD-80 aircraft with a special, invitation-only flight around Mount Ranier in Washington state. The 13-year-old plane will be replaced with a Boeing 737-800, completing the airline's transition to an all-737 fleet. Alaska expects to save $115 million a year by flying a single type of plane.
