Retiring Neiman Marcus CEO Burt Tansky discovered a passion for luxury retail in 1974, after joining I. Magnin. Since then, Tansky devoted his career to serving the upscale consumer, working as president of Saks Fifth Avenue before joining Neiman 21 years ago. "Once I got into the luxury business, I was enamored with the idea of selling fine merchandise to a customer who understands it," he said. "I knew it was for me."
