Combining metformin with exercise does not improve glucose control

Metformin-treated patients with type 2 diabetes who engaged in various exercise tests had less improvement in blood glucose control compared with the non-exercise group, a study in Diabetes Care found. Experts said the body may have countered the glucose-lowering effect of metformin and exercise to prevent glucose levels from getting too low.
