Revenues of Europe's major HFT firms rose nearly 20% in 2010

European regulators are considering ways to govern high-frequency trading, after major HFT firms increased average revenues by 18% last year, according to Financial News research. Average revenues per employee reached $2.7 million. Optiver's revenues increased 36%, to $501 million, while other firms, including Getco Europe and Knight Capital Europe, also earned hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues.
