Study: Peak BAT activity happens during adolescence

Boys and girls experience the highest level of brown adipose tissue activity during adolescence, according to a study in the Journal of Pediatrics of 172 children ages 5 to 21. The researchers also found a significant inverse association between BAT activity and body mass index percentile.
