Flaw in Siemens software puts U.S. energy grid at risk, expert says

The Department of Homeland Security is investigating claims made by a network security expert that he discovered vulnerabilities in software manufactured by Siemens' RuggedCom subsidiary that could put critical infrastructure in jeopardy. Justin W. Clarke told attendees of a conference last week that he successfully breached RuggedCom's Rugged Operating System software by exploiting inadequate encryption protections.
