ESPN signals openness to Web-based TV services

ESPN has acknowledged that it is having discussions with companies that plan to offer Web-based television services, without identifying any of the parties. Google, Intel and Sony are among the companies reportedly planning to offer such a service. ESPN President John Skipper said a Web TV service would be required to purchase "the whole suite of products" from the sports programmer. "We're not going to offer one-offs."
