FPL expects 2014 approval for new Turkey Point reactors

Florida Power & Light expects to secure federal and state approval in 2014 for the construction of two new reactors at its Turkey Point plant in South Florida, the utility said. "We're taking a careful approach to the Turkey Point [expansion]," said Peter Robbins, lead adviser of nuclear communications for NextEra Energy, FPL's parent company. FPL expects the new reactors to come online in 2022 and 2023.
