Japan orders TEPCO to strengthen water storage tanks at Fukushima Daiichi plant

The Japanese government told Tokyo Electric Power to strengthen storage tanks for irradiated water at its Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant after a leak earlier in the week. Two tanks similar to the one that leaked were found to have radiation hot spots on the seams. "Investigation will be needed to determine whether or not the detection of radiation means water leaked," said Hirofumi Shibata, an official with the nuclear accident response office of Japan's trade ministry.
