London bakery throws its hybrid dessert hat in the ring with 'townies'

The cronut, a trendy dessert mash-up of a croissant and a doughnut, is facing some competition with another hybrid treat -- the townie. American baker Bea Vo created the brownie and tartlet combination for her London bakeries and sold more than 800 of the desserts in the first 10 days of production.
